Terms of service
Using Chord
These terms cover the Chord desktop app and this website. By installing or using Chord, you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use Chord. How Chord handles your data is in the privacy policy.
Your accounts and your mail
You connect your own mail accounts and, if you choose, your own OpenRouter key. You're responsible for those accounts, for following your mail provider's and OpenRouter's terms, and for what you send from Chord. Use Chord lawfully: no spam, and no mail to people who haven't agreed to hear from you where the law requires that.
AI features
AI is optional and off until you turn it on. AI output, including drafts, summaries, answers, contact details and comparison tables, can be wrong. Check it before you rely on it or send it. Chord never sends an email by itself; every email waits for you to press send, and you're responsible for what you send. Any costs on your OpenRouter account are between you and OpenRouter.
Agents you connect
If you create an agent token, the agent can act on your mail within the scopes and send policy you set. You're responsible for the agents you connect and what they do with that access.
No warranty
Chord is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. Keep your mail with your provider; Chord stores a local copy and isn't a backup.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, the makers of Chord aren't liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for lost data, lost profits or mail sent or not sent, arising from your use of Chord.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms. If we do, we'll change this page and the effective date at the top. Using Chord after that means you accept the new terms. Questions: hello@chordmail.app.
